Ertugrul Ghazi’s Well

Söğüt’te bulunan Ertuğrul Gazi Mescidi, diğer adıyla Kuyulu Mescit, Osmanlı’nın kuruluş dönemine uzanan önemli yapılardan biridir.

Mescidin adını aldığı kuyu ise burayı sıradan bir tarihî yapıdan çok daha ilginç hale getiriyor.

Rivayetlere göre Ertuğrul Gazi döneminde yaşanan su meselesi ve açılan kuyu, Müslümanlarla gayrimüslimlerin aynı su kaynağını kullanmasına kadar uzanan bir hikâyeye sahip.

Ertugrul Ghazi Mosque, also known as Kuyulu Mescit, is one of the historical structures connected with the early Ottoman period in Söğüt, Bilecik.

The well inside the mosque is what makes this small historic building especially interesting.

According to local tradition, the story of the well goes back to the time of Ertugrul Ghazi and is connected with a period when Muslims and non-Muslims shared the same water source.
